The title character is the daughter of a florist whose father and stepmother hanker after ease and money and try to marry her off to a rich man as a concubine. This is a comedy produced by the left-wing company Fung Huang, generating much laughter by parodying the greed of common folks and the heartlessness of the wealthy. Fun Lam puts her comic prowess on exhibition, playing the rapacious stepmother with all the caricature the character demands.
