Dragon Lord is an important chapter in the development of Jackie Chan's storied career, its many elaborately staged action feats representing a transition from his early kung fu comedies to more stunt-oriented work. The film features several spectacular set pieces, including an amazing shuttlecock game and a breathtaking bun-pyramid scene at the beginning, which is said to require 2,900 takes to shoot, setting a record for the most takes for a single scene.
