This is a musical comedy adapted from the Beijing opera Flower Field Mistake (aka Bride Snapping), which was in turn adapted from the famous novel Water Margin.

Sun Ma Si- tsang and Mui Yee play lovers whose romance is threatened by the intervention of a local thug, leading the man to pose as a bride to fool the bully. Sun Ma, whose comic repertoire famously includes turns in drag, has a field day and Mui matches him every step of the way with a gorgeous display of her formidable comic prowess.
