Based on the Cantonese opera show of the same title, this is a classic comedy about mistaken identities, superstitions and outdated traditional gender beliefs. To satisfy their respective husbands’ demand for their children’s gender, two pregnant women have no choice but to reverse their newborns’ genders. However, the two children meet each other as adults and fall in love after seeing through each other’s disguises. Playing with the Cantonese opera world’s traditions of cross-dressing and gender reversals, this hilarious comedy features lively performances by opera performers Leung Mo-sheung and Tang Bik-wan. Leung Sing-po and Lo Duen also provide great comedic relief as the two conservative fathers.
