A deadly grudge causes two families’ fate to intertwine over the course of two generations in this tragic melodrama. Au Oi-ching (Wong Man-lei) is a widow whose husband was murdered years ago. The grudge resurfaces when Au discovers that her son's new wife (Ting Ying) is the daughter of her husband murderer (Lee Ching). As part of the Au’s revenge, the wife is abused repeatedly until she is harshly expelled from the household. Wong is especially amazing in the scene in which Au discovers the truth about her daughter-in-law. As years of resentment and anger erupt, Wong’s facial transformation into the vile wench is a sight to behold.
