To save the Yeung Family, patriarch (Lo Dun) convinces his youngest son(Cheung Wood-yau) to return home. However, what awaits the bright young man is a family on the brink of self-destruction. Grieving her son’s death, the eldest son’s widowed wife (Wong Man-lei) turns to the nunnery for salvation. To make things worse, the cowardly second son chooses suicide as his way out, while the evil third son is arrested for outstanding debts. The kind, devoted son failed to save the family in the end, but the never-ending feud between the second son’s wife (Yung Siu-yi) and the third son’s wife (Mui Yee) offers plenty of witty verbal barbs amidst the familial chaos. Wong Man-lei also lives up to her reputation as a tragedy star with her heartbreaking performance.
