The Hong Kong Film Company is one of the most important outfits of Cantonese cinema, responsible for a large number of martial arts films in the 1960s. The two-part series Paragon of Sword & Knife, based on the novel by Or Lung-sang, is one of the company's best. Connie Chan Po-chu, in one of her many male roles, plays a young man who leads a youthful clan that stands up to the established order of the martial world, representing the youth initiatives taken by Cantonese cinema in response to the changing times.
