"Spacious room perfect for couples. Cooking allowed..." Even the most basic of accommodation is out of the league for newlyweds Ziqian (Hu Siao-fung) and Peihua (Chen Juanjuan), who lead a hand-to-mouth existence in a tiny partitioned room. When Peihua finds becomes pregnant, all hell breaks loose: lay-offs, medical bills, mounting debts... Drifting from the city to the country and from a concrete block to a stone house to a wooden hut to finally a bedsit, the hardships of these hapless newlyweds paint a vivid and poignant portrait of the housing problem that has been plaguing Hong Kongers - up to this day.
