Who doesn't dream of landing a windfall someday? But be careful what you wish for, it might come true! Salaryman Chow (opera star Sun Ma Si-tsang) asks for a pay rise but gets the sack instead. He gets by with the support of his understanding wife (Fong Yim-fun) and a little help from his friend (Law Kim-long). When a windfall lands in his lap, Chow buys a big house, falls into bad company, abandons his family for a courtesan and squanders his fortune... Both Sun Ma and Law were opera stars, the former thin and mousy, the latter tall and hardy. Together, they form a formidable comedy team.
