The Magic Cup had been an audience favorite for years, dating from its 1961 release to re-runs in the oldies circuit, later leaping from the silver screen to the small screens in our homes. In the first chapter of this diptych, the title vessel protects Fung Bo-bo - Hong Kong's Shirley Temple - and her father as well as uncle from the scheming of her evil step-mom. Witchery and wizardry, bizarre creatures and eerie monsters, mysterious treasures and outlandish artifacts are only parts of the grotesque menagerie populating this magnificent world of childlike fantasy.
