Mime Performance

I want to take pictures of every beautiful thing with my camera, although I may not have seen it with my own eyes.

I want to take down every beautiful thing with my camera, although I am seeing less and less with my eyes.

2013, take three - a duo replaces the solo.

It will touch more and reach deeper, with each flash and capture of the camera.

“The emotional and enjoyable scene accurately and strongly revealed the meaning of blind photography, that was so touching!”

- Dr. Cheung Ping-kuen (Art Critic)

This is a story about two photographers, one born blind, and the other, losing his eyesight after an accident.  They don’t know each other, but one thing they share in common – and that is, with their camera, they want to put their hopes into that smooth surface called ‘photograph’, which holds a bright world that would forever live in their hearts.  They want to use their camera to tell what they have gone through, something they have never shared before.  As scene after scene appears on photosensitive paper, stories appear, to warm your heart, make you thankful, give you joy, and make you sigh……

About the Group

Heiquan Theatre

The name of Heiquan Theatre comes from breaking down the Chinese character for ‘mime’ into its two character constituents, ‘hei’ and ‘quan’. As its name suggests, the company aims at promoting mime, drama and physical theatre in Hong Kong, and in so doing, broadening the audiences’ artistic vistas. As a professional mime group in Hong Kong, Heiquan Theatre also organizes courses, workshops and school-touring performances in addition to its stage productions. Since 2007, the company has given over a hundred outreach performances in local kindergartens and primary schools as well as mime workshops in secondary schools. It also organizes a training course, I Have a Mime Story, to further share with the community the delights of this unique theatre form.
