Booking Procedures of Holiday Camps and campsite at the Chong Hing Water Sports Centre

To avoid affecting the advance priority booking of the holiday camps and Chong Hing Water Sports Centre (day and tent camps) submitted by various groups for holiday activities, LCSD will continue the prevailing policy of advance priority bookings of the holiday camps and campsite at Chong Hing Water Sports Centre while the free admission scheme is in effect (i.e. from July to September). Groups will still be required to pay the camp fees when booking camp places.

Under the free admission scheme from July to September, with the exception of advance priority bookings ^{Note 1} and maintenance days ^{Note 2}, LCSD will continue its prevailing policy of reserving half of the total camp places for free bookings by individuals. For Chong Hing Water Sports Centre, half and one-third of the total camp places will be reserved for free bookings by individuals during the peak period and the non-peak period respectively (the centre is closed on Thursdays ^{Note 3}).

Bookings from individuals for use of the above facilities should be made by submitting the completed application form to the respective holiday camps / Chong Hing Water Sports Centre by fax or by post or by email (email address ). If the applications exceed the quota, allocation of places will be determined by ballot. Confirmation letters will be sent to successful applicants and lists of the successful applicants will be announced in the webpages of the holiday camps and Chong Hing Water Sports Centre.

Unfilled camp places in the holiday camps and Chong Hing Water Sports Centre after the ballot can be booked by submitting completed application forms to the respective holiday camps / Chong Hing Water Sports Centre by fax or by post or by email. If the applications exceed the remaining camp places, camp places will be allocated by ballot on the fifth working day of the following month. (For example, camp places for July will be allocated by ballot on May 7 and those camp places unfilled will be allocated by ballot again on June 6.)

Booking of remaining quotas after the application for the second round of unfilled camp places should be made by phoning the office of the respective holiday camps / Chong Hing Water Sports Centre.

If unsuccessful applicants wish to apply for other camp places, they have to resubmit completed application forms by fax or by post or by email to the respective holiday camps / Chong Hing Water Sports Centre.

Note 1 : Camp places at the following dates are reserved exclusively for advance priority bookings. (For example, as Sai Kung Outdoor Recreation Centre has been booked for music camp programmes during the period from July 20 to August 2, 2008, no residential, day and evening camps will be provided for the public to use free of charge.)

Note 2 : During the following maintenance days, no check-in services will be provided for residential and evening camps in holiday camps.

Note 3 : Chong Hing Water Sports Centre is closed on Thurdays. No check-in services will be provided for tent camp on Wednesdays and no campsite services will be provided on Thursdays.
