3D OMNIMAX Show ˇ§Hidden Universe 3Dˇ¨
Showing from 1 July 2014 to 31 December 2014
When you gaze at the twinkling stars, you may let your imagination run wild about the night sky. But do you know that there are more to this fascinating universe than meets the eye?
Since astronomers used telescopes for observation four centuries ago, the way mankind observes the universe is no longer restrained by the tiny pupil of the human eye. Now astronomers have large ground-based optical and radio telescopes, orbiting space telescopes or even in-situ space probes in their arsenal for comprehensive studies of the universe. Started from the Earth, we have extended our view to the Solar System, the Milky Way and other galaxies, reaching the birth scene of the universe. This is something which astronomers several hundred years ago could have never dreamt of. Mysteries are being unravelled, one astrophotograph at a time. But these stunning images also bring about new questions which would require even crisper images for explanation. The quest for knowledge will never end.
The 3D OMNIMAX Show ˇ§Hidden Universe 3Dˇ¨ will let the audience and astronomers walk together, to go to the forefront of cosmic exploration, the Atacama Desert in Chile which is as desolate as the Martian surface. Using currently the worldˇ¦s most powerful optical telescopes and radio telescope array, we can enjoy deep space images in unprecedented clarity and have a peep at the farthest corner of the mysterious universe.
