Production

Materials and Instrument

A black box with dimensions 28 cm x 25 cm x 25 cm (make one yourself using a black cardboard or paint a box of similar size black), white paper, cutter, pin, cellophane tape and aluminum foil.

Methods :

1. Cut a small square hole measuring 2 cm by 2 cm in the middle of the top of the box.
2. Tape the aluminum foil to the hole, then pin a small hole in the centre of the aluminum foil carefully.
3. Tape a white paper to the base of the camera to serve as the projection screen.
4.
Make a rectangular hole on any side of the box to observe the projection of the Sun. The hole should be big enough to see the whole screen.

Use :

1. Move the box under the sun until sunlight can be projected on the white paper in the base through the hole. If the distance between the hole and the paper is 25 cm, the diameter of the light spot is about 2.5 mm.
2. Pay attention to the change of the light spot during the Solar Eclipse.
