When we think of exploring, we often imagine journeying to faraway lands, the bottom of the ocean or even space. But in the Omnimax film "The Human Body", you can venture into a territory even more exotic and astounding - the world inside your own skin!

The ear hairs sitting above sausage-shaped cells are so small that 10,000 bunched together are thinner than one strand of hair from our head.

Babies are able to hold their breath under water with their mysterious diving reflex.

The film shows that just opening our eyes each morning scorches off the top layer of the cells on our retina and we begin with refreshed sensors with which to view the world. Follow a family as they go through their day, and witness the staggering amount of activity happening in their bodies. Peer into the inner ear as an eight-year-old girl, jams to her favourite tune. Check out the arteries and veins pumping feverishly as a teenager bikes to school. And even more amazingly, watch as a baby grows inside a mother's body, just waiting to be born.

"The Human Body" takes things as tiny as a red blood cell and magnifies them onto a giant screen! Through sophisticated thermal imaging, X-ray and computer graphics technology, the functions inside our bodies become visible in great detail. You will see the ordinary miracles that keep our bodies running at full steam from morning till night and the extraordinary marvels of life.

Sophisticated computer animation shows the X-ray view of a boy as he rides his bike.

Thermal imaging reveals the different temperatures of areas of the body.

The fetus hand emerges as cells die to form fingers.
