69th Academy Award Nominee - Best Decumentary Short Subject Category

The naked eye can only see a very limited slice of the universe.

Staring wide-eyed at the distant points of light dotting the night-time sky, we spot a shooting star, but fail to witness the last breaths of a supernova. Squinting in an up-close inspection of our hands, we may notice a fleck of dirt, but certainly miss our skin's minute molecular make-up. Thus, our imaginations struggle to fathom the incredibly vast dimensions of the world in which we live.

Fortunately, imagination is not the only way to visualize the invisible.

A comet - shortly before impact - races towards primordial Earth

Through a time-lapse computer-generated simulation representing millions of years, two spiral galaxies collide, eventually merging into a single galaxy.

"Cosmic Voyage" blends cutting-edge technology and state-of-the-art computer-generated images to create a visually stunning journey through the known dimensions of the universe. You will take onto a journey across the entire range of space and time scales known to science, from quarks (the smallest particles of matter) to the largest observable universe, and from big bang to our present civilizations.

While technology can help us visualize some of the wonders of the universe, many mysteries remain. Summing up the past scientific discoveries, the end of this vicarious journey may mark the start of the real "Cosmic Voyage" of humankind.
