The Astropark is a theme park with stargazing facilities located within Chong Hing Water Sports Centre, West Sea Cofferdam, High Island Reservoir with an area of about 1,200 square metres. Equipped with typical Chinese and western astronomical instruments from the ancient times to the modern period, the Astropark provides a convenient stargazing park with recreational, educational and astronomical facilities for the benefit, use and enjoyment of the public and amateur star lovers. The Astropark was opened on 30 January 2010.

The Astropark is divided into 3 zones: Educational Zone for day-time use, Naked-eye Observation Area for casual users and Telescopic Observation Area for amateur astronomers.

  • Take public transport (KMB 94 [Sai Kung to Wong Shek Pier], 96R [Sunday and Public Holiday route Diamond Hill Railway Station to Wong Shek Pier] or Citybus 698R [Sunday and Public Holiday route Siu Sai Wan Island Resort to Wong Shek Pier] or Green Minibus 7 [Sai Kung to Hoi Ha], 9 [Sai Kung to Lady MacLehose Holiday Village]) to Pak Tam Chung, Sai Kung and then take a taxi for about 15 minutes. (Owing to the remote location, visitors may need to use taxi-call services.)

  • Those having pre-booked camping facilities may take scheduled shuttle buses provided by the Chong Hing Water Sports Centre to and from Sai Kung Tang Siu Kin Sports Ground and the Centre at scheduled hours.

  • Hire a "kaito"at Sai Kung Pier. (Please call the Chong Hing Water Sports Centre at 2792 6810 beforehand from 9am to 5pm, except Thursday to arrange for disembarkation).
