Aeolian Landscape

Aeolian Landscape derives its name from Aeolus, the Greek god of wind.  You can alter the force of blowing air inside the chamber to create landscapes suggestive of the sand dunes on Earth and Mars, or the blowing ice formations at the Martian poles. The erosive and sedimentary behaviour of the shifting sand mimics an ever-changing terrain of windswept hills and of avalanches tumbling down steep slopes.

Braided Stream

Flow dynamics are at work in Braided Stream where air bubbling up through fine powder creates channels that resemble drainage networks. This process of deepening and enlarging rivulets mimics the formation of streambeds on Earth and Mars. The flowing sand in ˇ§Braided Streamˇ¨ also suggests the lava-cut channels on Mars and on our Moon.
