"Sweet Science" Demonstration
Do you know how different kinds of candy are made? When sugar is heated up, the texture of syrup would change with temperature. Each stage has its own characteristics and uses. Marshmallows will puff up to four times their original size when heated up. Will they return to their original size and texture after cooling? The popcorns that we eat are prepared by heating popcorn kernels. Can we use other grains to make popcorn as well? After sugar is heated to form syrup, how does it transform to the sugar threads in cotton candy? Candies are often available in many attractive colours. What are the components of these colour coatings? You can find out answers to these mysteries in this demonstration! |
