Programme Title The Fun Science Competition 2013 "Drips Down a Vine" video highlights
Programme Description The objective of "Fun Science Competition" is to design and produce a device to solve a particular problem.  For this year's competition, "Drips Down a Vine", the participants had to design a device carrying five table tennis balls that moved along a wire and dropped the balls into five different containers in order to get scores.  There were two groups - the powered device group and non-powered device group.  For the powered device group, the participants had to design a non-electric powered device. While in the non-powered device group, the device should move downward by a slope of 1:100.

There were 145 teams participated in this competition. They used their knowledge in science, technology and art to produce different devices that were full of creativity.  The competition was finally ended with joy and fun.

Programme Title Science Alive 2012 video highlights
Programme Description Sponsored by the Croucher Foundation, the Hong Kong Science Museum, the British Council, the Education Bureau and the Hong Kong Education City Limited jointly organized the Science Alive 2012 activities in November 2012. This programme invited distinguished academics from the UK to present lectures and workshops.  The theme of Science Alive was simply 2012 - a year full of promises, full of celebrations, and full of human and technological potential, such as the Alan Turing Year, which marked the centenary of the father of computer science Alan Turing's birth, as well as the London 2012 Olympic Games. It encouraged students and teachers to learn science knowledge in an interactive approach under a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.

Lectures and Teacher & Student Workshops are two core activities of Science Alive. Distinguished academics presented a series of science lectures and workshops with interactive science demonstrations. Other interesting activities included the Science Drama Show, Students Debate and Interactive Sports Exhibition, presented in a vivid and stunning way to foster students in exploring science.
