Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre

"To Dig & to Learn" Workshop
(School Programme)


What is archaeology? How old are the finds excavated in Hong Kong? To enrich students’ knowledge on field archaeology, HKHDC has specially organized this workshop. Our tutor will brief them the archaeological work in Hong Kong and local major discoveries. Through mock-up excavation and surveying work, participants will get to know the work of archaeologist, and learn how to differentiate finds. At the end of the workshop, students will report and share their findings. Details of the workshop are as follows:



Date: September 2015 to August 2016
Time: 10:30am - 12noon
Venue : Activity Room, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Kowloon Park, Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
Quota: 20 persons per session
Target: Applicable to Primary 4 to Secondary 3 students
(Senior secondary students are also welcome)
Tutor: Local archaeologist / Assistant Curators from the Antiquities and Monuments Office
Language : Cantonese / English
Fee : Free

Please read through the Notes of Application, and send the completed application form to the Education and Publicity Unit, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre. If over application, participants will be selected by lot drawing. Successful applicants will be confirmed in writing.
