Public Programme
"Paper Model Making of the Former Whitfield Barracks" Workshop

The Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre occupies the historic Blocks S61 and S62 of the former Whitfield Barracks in Kowloon Park. After restoration, these two military buildings have been converted into the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, equipped with modern displays and facilities. In this programme, it will introduce the history and architectural features of the Centre to participants. Participants will learn about the structure of the buildings and the concept of adaptive re-use through paper model making.

Details of the Workshop are as follows:

Date: 17 August 2013 (Saturday)
Time: (A) 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. or (B) 4 – 5 p.m.
(Two identical sessions)
Venue: Activity Room, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre,
Kowloon Park, Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
Quota: 40 persons per session
(1 person for 1 session only)
Tutor: Docent of Antiquities and Monuments Office
Language: Cantonese
Fees: Free
Deadline: 2 August 2013 (Fri) 5 p.m.
Details of Open Lot Drawing :
In case of over application, participants will be selected by lot drawing, which will be held on 5 August 2013 (Mon) 10:30 a.m. at Activity Room, HKHDC. If open lot drawing is required, the result will be announced on the website of Antiquities and Monuments Office.
