Lo Pan Temple
15 Ching Lin Terrace

The patron saint of Chinese builders and contractors, Lo Pan, also known as Lu Ban or Gongshu Ban, lived in the State of Lu (now Shandong province) in the Spring and Autumn Period. Located in Sai Wan and erected in 1884 by the Contractor’s Guild with donations from many people connected with the building trades, this is the only temple in Hong Kong dedicated to him. With two courtyards and three halls, it features a typical layout but is distinguished by its elaborate ‘fire’ type parapet walls, ceramic sculptures, plastered reliefs and murals. Ownership of the land changed several times before it was acquired by the temple management company Kwong Yuet Tong Hong Kong in 1921.
