The Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) has received encouraging responses from the public since the launch of the Friends of Heritage (FOH) Scheme in 1997. We have already got more than 700 members. FOH has been providing valuable assistance in heritage conservation and publicity. AMO also arranges formal training and activities on local heritage to equip members with professional knowledge. Members were given the opportunity to attend lectures on history and heritage, visit heritage sites and volunteer in education programs. In addition, some of them have become docents after attending training programmes, who help convey the importance of heritage conservation to the public. AMO will keep a track record of the activity / service hours of each member every year. To complement the active FOH, awards will be presented to the most dedicated members of the year.
