The Antiquities and Monuments Office (AMO) has received encouraging responses from the public since the inception of the Friends of Heritage (FOH) Scheme in 1997, and the scheme has already accumulated more than 650 members. The FOH has been providing valuable assistance in heritage conservation and promotional work. The AMO also arranges formal training and activities on local heritage to equip members with professional knowledge. Members were given the opportunity to attend lectures on local history and heritage, visiting local heritage sites and historic buildings. In addition, they become trained docents after a series of docent training programmes, and help to convey the importance of heritage conservation to the public through various types of voluntary services.

The AMO will recruit a new batch of FOH in early 2009. For those who are interested to become FOH, please visit this website again for announcement. Should there be any queries, please contact Ms. Wong at 2208 4407.
