Activity (1)

Recruitment of Volunteers for the Fire Drill held at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre

A fire drill will be held at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre in mid-November, we would like to recruit FOH as volunteers to participate in the fire drill, details of the fire drill are as follows:

Date : 16 November 2006 (Thursday)
Time : 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Assemble Time : 11:00 a.m.
Assemble Place : Lecture Hall, Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre, Kowloon Park, Haiphong Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon
Quota :40 persons
Application & Enquiry: Mr. Fan (Tel:2208 4407)
Contents :
  1. Managers of HDC will give a briefing to all volunteers on the rundown of the fire drill, their roles and the points to note;
  2. To participate in the fire drill
  3. Volunteers will return to the Lecture Hall for a briefing on fire safety delivered by the Fire Service Department and will be invited to express opinions afterwards

Christmas Card and Slogan Competition

Christmas is a festival for rejoicing, in order to share this happiness, we would like to invite FOH to join the above competition, details of the competition are as follows:

Format :AMO Christmas e-card
Aims :To enhance the public's knowledge and awareness towards local heritage
Content :
1. To design an e-card for Christmas by using local heritage as a theme
2.A slogan for heritage promotion should be shown on the card
Prize :
1. Three awards will be given to the winners
2.Selected entry will be sent to others via email by AMO
Adjudicators :Curator and Assistant Curators of AMO

  1. No enrollment is needed.
  2. Audience will be admitted 15 minutes before each lecture starts.
  3. FOH will get 2 hours of activity record for attending this lecture.

Loan Service of Mini Disc (MD) on Public Lectures and Seminars

To enhance the public's knowledge on local heritage and archaeology, public lectures and seminars related to the above aspects have been organized by AMO since 2004. Recordings of these lectures and seminars are now available in the Reference Library of the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre. You are welcome to borrow these MDs at our library during the opening hours of our Centre.

Regulations on Loan Service of Mini Disc:

  1. The services are only provided inside the Reference Library, tapes are not allowed to be loan out, a MD machine will be provided to the borrower by the library staff;
  2. Borrowers must sign in our record for borrowing MDs and MD machines;
  3. AMO may seek for compensation from the borrowers if the MD tapes and machines are damaged;
  4. Copyrights of all MDs are reserved, borrowers are not allowed to duplicate them without the permission of AMO.
