The textiles & natural history specimens conservators
are responsible for the preservation and restoration
of textiles, costumes and natural history specimens.
Apart from devising conservation programmes for the
collections, they monitor the display condition at the
branch museums and are actively involved in the integrated
pest management programmes. While the work of textile
conservation calls for specific manual dexterity, the
textile
washing table is one of the essential equipment
in the textile laboratory.
