The photographs & prints conservators take care
of the conservation and restoration work on photographic
materials and prints in the museum collections. They
also provide technical advice and conservation support
for thematic exhibitions of relevant materials, oversee
the environmental monitoring programmes for photographs
& prints stores and galleries, and advise on the
choice of storage/display materials.
They are also responsible for conducting condition
inspections of loan exhibits and intended acquisitions,
designing proper packing methods, and making recommendations
on the conservation, handling and transportation of
photographs and prints selected for travelling/loan
exhibitions.
