| A suction table is used for the conservation of works-of-art
on paper or, in general, any porous 2-dimensional works
of art. It provides a suction surface of adjustable level
of vacuum for various paper treatments, such as controlled
drying of paper, localized washing of dirt/stains
and the lining on paper artifacts using aqueous adhesives
etc. It also provides a stable platform while manipulating
inserts and adjusting distortions on paper objects associated
with cockling, tears, holes and other forms of damage. |
