>> Air Abrasive Machine |

| |
| An air abrasive machine is useful for removing rust
from the surface of an archaeological iron object or other
surface corrosion on metal artifacts. The objects 'were
cleaned' by a jet of abrasive powder (usually aluminium
oxide) driven by compressed air inside a glass-top illuminated
box. The cleaning intensity can be adjusted by simply
controlling the air pressure and the powder flow rate.
The waste powder will be contained inside the box and
removed by a specialized vacuum pump, without contaminating
the outside air. |
