Hong Kong International Airport, Boarding Gate 31, Departure Level, Terminal 1 To the Chinese, tea is more than a drink of quenching thirst. It is also used as a form of offering in ancestral and deity worships, and it forms one of the gifts that the bridegroom gives to the bride before marriage. Today, tea beverage is the most common drink that people will offer to visitors either at home or at official parties in China. This exhibition introduces the various styles in making tea beverage practiced in China at different times and different places. It is our hope that this story of tea-drinking in China will help to spread this healthy drinking habit and that visitors will enjoy more their cup of tea. |
