Jointly organized by
Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD)
Sports Federation & Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC)

To celebrate the 29th Olympic Games in Beijing and in response to the call by the Commission for Culture and Olympic Education of the International Olympic Committee to promote the link between the worlds of culture and sport, the LCSD and SF&OC teamed up to organize "Olympic Sport and Art Contest 2008". Revolving around the theme of "Sport and the Olympism", the aim of the contest and exhibition is to reinforce an active synergy between the worlds of art and sport and to heighten perception of the link between them. The contest consisted of two categories: sculpture, won by To Shui-ming's "Towards the Rainbow"*, and graphic works, won by Canson Lau Kin-lun's "Colour Diagram of Kinetic Energy". Showcasing for the public the creativity of local artists and the message highlighting the interaction between sport and art, the exhibition features these award-winning works of art as well as all the short-listed entries. Join in the Olympic spirit by coming to see and cheer these sporting works of art!
