When the Art Promotion Office was restructured in 2010, we took the opportunity to reposition ourselves and redefine our mission ˇV we strive to embrace ˇ§communityˇ¨ whilst making our services more people-oriented. Community art activities aim at providing venues and opportunities to art lovers ˘w be they students, youth, amateur artists, people with disabilities or artists themselves, to display their works of art. In the context of community art, community is not linked simply to the geographical sense, it extends to community groups, such as children, youth, women, elderly and people with special needs, etc. We believe that community art will provide a common platform for people in different community groups to participate, and through which enjoy the pleasure of art creation. Apart from enriching people's cultural life, community art could also help to enhance their level and ability in the enjoyment of visual arts. We hope to transcend not only physical but also social boundaries in connecting art with the people, and to co-create with different communities, connecting more people with art.
