| International Museum Day 2013 | | In 1977, the International Council of Museums designated 18 May of every year to be the International Museum Day (IMD). Since 2001, the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) has organised an array of art, culture and museum extension activities in mid-May every year with the aim of raising public awareness about the roles and functions of museums in society. The theme for IMD 2013 is "Museums (Memory + Creativity) = Social Change", highlighting the universal nature of the institutions and their positive influence on society. Museums and cultural institutions of the LCSD will be open to public for free on May 18 and 19, and organise a series of programmes for your participation.
