Love and romance takes centre stage in this sequel to Aren’t the Kids Lovely? (1953) which features a whole new cast of characters as the seven grown-up children of Yan Xingtang and his wife who are posed with a fresh new set of problems. In her role as the youngest daughter Yan ‘Full House’ Keman, the charisma of the eight-year-old Josephine Siao Fong-fong, rivalling if not eclipsing any other actor in the ensemble, was only equalled by the complete adoration the camera has for her. When the Yan family goes topsy-turvy with the children getting entangled in all sorts of heartbreaks and troubled love affairs – the eldest and third daughters turning love rivals, the second son bewitched by a social butterfly and the youngest son falling head-over-heels for an orphaned laundress, Keman steps in and plays the incognito matchmaker to untangle the web of relationships.
