Stanley, a brainy eight-year-old, never brings lunch to school. But he is popular so classmates are willing to share theirs with him. A greedy teacher tries to steal a bite every day when teachers and pupils are eating, but everyone avoids him. Enraged he forbids Stanley from entering the school unless he brings his own lunch box. The film featuring impressive performance by the child protagonist tells a story about poverty and hunger through portrayals of a quirky school life. A heart-warming film that reminds you of the goodness of childhood.
