Featuring exciting aerial chases, large scale ground battles and an odd couple that falls in love, High Road to China resembles a Hollywood adventure film not unlike the Indiana Jones films. Bess Armstrong stars as high society heiress in 1920s Istanbul whose uncle is eyeing her inheritance, and the only way she can keep it is if she finds her long-lost father. She enlists the help of alcoholic pilot O'Malley (Tom Selleck), who takes them on a treacherous journey with stops in Iraq, Afghanistan, Nepal, the Himalayas and Xinjiang. From the majestic scenery (through the eyes of cinematography Ronnie Taylor) to a grand score by John Barry (1933-2011), High Road to China represents a type of old-school epic adventures that Hollywood doesn't produce anymore. Don't miss this rare chance to see it on the big screen!
