Remembering Ricky Hui (1946-2011)
Ricky Hui (1946 - 2011) is the ultimate little man. In life as it was in art, he played the role of the neglected, appearing as the unassuming third of the Hui Brothers team, knowingly and humbly remaining in the shadow of older brother Michael's comic genius and younger brother Sam's popularity. Yet Ricky was not forgotten. He quietly fostered a stardom, sneaking into our consciousness and earning a spot of respect and affection with his understated acting and comic prowess. He was multi-talented too, leaving his mark not only in film but also in music, releasing many best-selling albums and singing the theme songs in many of his films. The greatness of his littleness will be fondly remembered.
