George is the name and bullying is the game. Yu Ming is wonderful as George, head of a punk gang that terrorizes a wet market. A naïve and unemployed young man Fei (Sun Ma Si-tsang) unwittingly gets himself recruited into the gang and when he tries to bully a vegetable girl (the feisty Tang Bik-wan), he is pushed into the gutter… The film’s theme song, which is familiar to most of the Hong Kong people even to this day, bears the title of the film and is sung to the tune of Three Coins in the Fountain . It has become an anthem of not only teddy boys but in fact of the difficulties Hong Kong went through in the westernization process.
