After the departure of Chung Ching from Hsin Hwa, Tong Yuejuan discovered Lan Di to take Chung’s place as the studio’s new musical star. Sheng (Chin Feng) was on the way to his aunt’s birthday party when he lost the birthday gifts of food and wine on the road. Sheng is taken in by a village family who happened to have picked up the gifts and eaten them. The family patriarch asks daughter Lotus (Lan Di) to keep Sheng occupied while the family runs to replace the gifts and the two soon fall in love, even though Sheng is already engaged to his cousin. Shot on location in Taiwan’s Sun Moon Lake, the film features picturesque locations and lovely traditional village songs that perfectly complement this pure and beautiful love story.
