Banana peels and pratfalls are no new tricks in films, but they work brilliantly throughout this comedy released shortly after Chinese New Year. Yuen plays Fai, the mischievous, bananaloving nephew of master Wong Fei Hung (Kwan Tak-hing). During the Lantern Festival, local despot (Sek Kin) comes to seize the precious lantern on displayed at the temple. It turns out Fai is more than the little prankster you would have expected, and the quick-witted kid retrieves the lantern with some cracking moves. Yuen’s hysterical fight scene with the up-and-coming Lee Hong-kum also makes for some sidesplitting laughter.
