Chinese Animated Films
Since the 1950s, the Shanghai Animation Film Studio has gathered some of the nation's best animation artists and produced many animation films based on traditional Chinese stories, legends and folklores. The techniques include Chinese ink-painting, paper-cutting, etc., all with a touch of Chinese aesthetics. Their works are testimonies that creativity can be simple and of a high artistic value, even without the aid of modern computer technology.
Special Screenings for Parents
No matter you are a working or full-time parent, you may have gone through the helpless experience letting off the steam in front of your kids when they are not listening. When the kids are not catching up at school, you can hire tutorial teachers, but what if the parents need some guidance with their kids?
Two films of the International Children's Film Carnival are specially picked for parents, teachers, social workers and all those concerned with the growth of our children. Social workers from The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups will host discussions on teaching children and also having the right expectations.
So this summer, while you are busy signing up classes for your kids, you may also enjoy these films with other parents.
All Special Screenings for Parents will be followed by a discussion session in Cantonese, hosted by a registered social worker of The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, to share parenting tips.
