Students' Performance for the Community

The Audience Building Office of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has been joining hands with local professional arts groups with arts education experience in organising the “School Arts Animateur Scheme” (SAAS) in schools. By offering a series of workshops lasting from a few months to an entire academic year for primary, secondary and special school students, the Scheme aims at providing students with opportunities to develop their creativity and foster their interest in arts.

To enhance students’ civic awareness and continue the efficacy of arts education since 2009/10, the Audience Building Office and arts groups arrange participating students of SAAS to perform at various voluntary agencies such as elderly centres and special schools near their schools. This not only offered the students additional chances to perform, but also enabled them to serve the local community and nurture their sense of care for others.
