Introduction

The “Community Oral History Theatre Project – Islands District (Tai O)” was co-organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the Chung Ying Theatre Company, the Neighbourhood Advice-Action Council and Hong Kong Heritage Conservation Foundation Limited. Through organizing a series of workshops, the project aims at gathering the personal experiences and valuable recollections of the elderly in Tai O and writing scripts with the oral information so collected, providing an opportunity for the elderly to act out their stories on stage themselves.
