'Expertly reveals how minimalism can create big pictures in our imaginations’
The Stage, United Kingdom
Performed in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2015 and Beverley Puppet Festival 2016
One puppet, one fish, an incurable disease – the last trip of a lifetime.
Ted suffers from Motor Neurone Disease (MND) which causes his mobility to degenerate and he is talking to us through an electronic device. He is now bound to a wheelchair and cannot move by himself but he still remembers the good times. There is a flashback to the time when Ted experiences the first signs of MND. When he is diagnosed with the disease, he rushes to experience the world outside his comfort zone and take a final trip to Europe with his pet fish. The relationship between Ted and his pet fish is especially touching and Ted remains positive even his body is failing him. The piece features heartwarming and inventive puppetry to tell one man’s final adventure to create enough memories to last a lifetime.
