Future, it seems so close, yet so far.
Future can be exploration to the outer space and is also our lives of next day.
It is not just about looking forward; by referring backward, our future deepened with insight.
CouCou on MARS is a daring adventure, and also an archeology of the future; from what we dreamed up in the past, to what we are envisioning now. It can be sci-fi, and it can also be very basic to our lives and our hearts!
Riding on the experiment of the previous project - Digital Hug, GayBird brings forward his idea of “New Instrument for New Music”. In addition to exploring on interface design and programming for new musical instruments, GayBird also re-constructs and revitalizes century-old futuristic instruments for performing his contemporary music. Through the interfacing and sensor technology, real-time triggers of sound, lights, mechatronics, stage installation and video visuals, offers audience a new dimension of visual music experience.
The programme lasts for about 70 minutes with no intermission.

GayBird
Leung Kei-cheuk, aka GayBird, with professional training in music composition and electro-acoustic music at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. He has been actively involving in Hong Kong pop music industry, and also a core member of the music company PMPS. In recent years, he has began his venture in new media art experiment and completed his Master study at the City University of Hong Kong in 2011, specialized his research and creation in human control interface design and the interactivity of live music performance with application of media technology. His previous project - Digital Hug (2011) has received critical acclaims widely, and also earned him numerous awards. The production has toured to Macau, Sao Paulo, Taipei, Kaohsiung and Paris.
UA (ウーア) (Japan)
Kaori Hasegawa, a singer-songwriter from Japan.
"UA" means flower in the Swahili language.
In 1995, UA released her debut album. Her well-known songs include "passion", "Sad Johny" and "Milk Tea". UA has released albums in the name of the band AJICO (project of UA with Kenichi Asai) and has also collaborated with Composer / Saxophonist, Kikuchi Naruyoshi respectively. In 2005, UA has also participated in an experimental media art + music project - "path", which is a collaboration project with musician / producer - Uchihashi Kazuhisa and media artist / director - Takayuki Fujimoto. In addition to music performance, UA has performed in movies, such as Woman of Water, and Dainipponjin. In April 2010, she released her first live recording album - "HARUTO LIVE", and in June released her 15th anniversary album "KABA". Since 2005, UA moved to suburb and started her rural life, and actively engaging in activities advocating for environmental protection and world peace.
