When revenge seems to be the only way out, when death reigns over all … the tragic destiny can only be defeated by not spilling blood
| | |   | | The Synopsis | |
It is a tranquil evening on a farm in Mato Rujo. Out of the dusk walk three armed men, who quickly and stealthily ambush the small country house. Manuel Roca and his two children are trapped. The gunmen are after Roca for lethal revenge, nothing less. Roca hides his little daughter in an attempt to save her, but he can do nothing to protect his young boy…or himself.
Soon after the father and son are slaughtered, the youngest of the killers finds the daughter, tucked away in her hideout. But something stirs in him and impedes him from calling out to his fellow murderers. The three men walk away after burning down the house.
The girl survives, and decades later, has matured into a ruthless avenger. There is now one target left before her mission is concluded.
A man, approached by a woman, understands his time has come. But they talk – and as they do, their conversation unleashes the floodgates to a torrent of unspoken histories and motivations. For the two lost souls, wrecked in the dark ocean of violence and spilled blood, things are finally beginning to make sense…
| |   | | | | | The Arts Group | Teatro Cinema was first founded in 1987 as La Troppa, with the conviction and commission of being a troop of artists marching across the devastated landscape of cultural decay. With this spirit, the group achieved their breakthrough with unique pieces such as El Santo Patrono, Rap del Quijote, Lobo, Salmón Vudú, Viaje al Centro de la Tierra, Pinocchio, Jesús Betz and Gemelos. They were well-received by audiences worldwide, spanning North and South America, Europe and Asia and numbering thousands. 19 years later, in 2006, the company was re-named Teatro Cinema – a conglomeration of artists from the most diverse disciplines who have come together for their shared quest for beauty and poetry, literature, image and music.
Their goal is to fuse the languages and techniques of theatre arts and cinema into an indivisible entity, and in so doing, create the illusion of travelling through time and space, and generate vertiginous stories which virtually escape the four concrete walls of a theatre. | |   | | | | | Programme Length | | The programme lasts for about 100 minutes with no intermission | |   | | | | | Ticketing and Concession | Tickets available from 5 August onwards at all URBTIX outlets, on Internet and by Credit Card Telephone Booking
