The preservation of Cantonese Opera as a legacy and its continuum in Hong Kong has been made possible through the hard work, experimentation and promotional efforts of generations of Cantonese Opera virtuosi and enthusiastic academics. Coming from different backgrounds, they share the same fervent interest in Cantonese Opera and have contributed tremendously to this cultural gem. In this series, we will look back upon the life and times of five of these esteemed predecessors.
