Application Procedures
  • Completed application forms should be mailed to:
    Activities & Promotion Section, Music Office,
    25/F, Wanchai Tower, 12 Harbour Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong.
    (Local applicants should also send in 3 stamped ($1.40) and self-addressed envelopes) 
  • Application by fax or email will not be accepted. 
  • Application Deadline: 1 April 2013 (as of postal chop); applicants should call the enquiry numbers if they do not receive the application number from the Music Office by 17 April 2013 
  • Date of audition: 1 May 2013 (Wednesday) [Public Holiday] Applicants who missed the audition will not be considered. (Note: An alternative date will be arranged in the circumstances of inclement weather or under other unforeseeable situation.) 
  • Applicants who fail to meet the entry requirements will not be invited to audition. If applicants do not receive any notification by 24 April 2013 (Wednesday), please call the enquiry numbers listed below. 
  • Applicants will be informed of the recruitment result by 31 May 2013. 
  • Successful applicants will not normally be accepted to more than one training group with the same instrument.
 
Notes to Local Applicants
  • Successful applicants are required to join the pre-camp rehearsals and will be duly notified of the details. Absence from these rehearsals must be approved by the Music Office in advance. 
  • Campers are required to reside in the camp. Application for leave is granted at the sole discretion of the Music Office.
 
Notes to Non-local Applicants
  • Non-local applicant shall be a citizen outside of Hong Kong. A recommendation letter from the applicant’s school or music organization that he/she has affiliation with should be sent in together with the application form. 
  • Non-local applicant may send in a computer disk with the video recording of his/her musical performance for audition. The audition disk, which can be read by Windows Media Player or Quick Time, should be labelled with “Hong Kong Youth Music Camp Audition” and must reach the Music Office before 1 May 2013. 
  • To encourage youth music exchange, Parsons Music, sponsor of the 2013 Hong Kong Youth Music Camp, offers scholarships for non-local campers of excellent musical standard to participate in the camp. The scholarships would be rendered through waiving of camp fees for selected non-local campers. 
  • Successful applicants are responsible for their own passage, *visa arrangements and accommodation before and after the Camp. Overseas and mainland campers are required to take out a medical and accidental insurance policy for their own protection. (*The valid dates of entry visa should cover the entire 8-day camp period.) 
  • Campers are required to reside in the camp. Application for leave is granted at the sole discretion of the Music Office. In the event of any unforeseen circumstances (such as typhoon) which causes the closure of the campsite, alternative off-camp accommodation will be arranged by Music Office.
