Group Docent Service

Guided Tours

The Archive presents varied film-related thematic exhibitions with docent service throughout the year.

Eligibility

All Hong Kong primary schools, secondary schools, special schools, post-secondary institutions, universities, local-registered charities and non-profit-making organisations are eligible to apply for our Group Docent Service. In the case of registered charitable organizations and non-profit-making organizations, applicants should submit copies of supporting documents identifying the charitable or non-profit-making nature of the organization. (Constitution or Memorandum and Articles of Association of the organization, which indicates that members do not take any share of the profits nor any share of the assets upon dissolution, should be submitted together with the application.)

The number of visitors in each group is limited to thirty, each group to be accompanied by two teachers or representatives from the visiting organisation.  Because of limited space in the Exhibition Hall, the Archive may divide visitors into smaller groups and may arrange for them to walk around the Archive in a different time slots.

Programme

A tour generally takes around 1 hour and 15 minutes, covering the thematic exhibitions and Resource Centre. Group docent service is not available on Tuesdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.  

Application Procedures

Applications will be arranged on a first come, first served basis. Applications can be made at least 2 weeks and at most 2 months in advance before the proposed date of visit. Please refer to the Notes of Application and exhibition schedule before submitting the application. Completed application form should be faxed to the Hong Kong Film Archive at (852) 2311 5229.

All personal data provided in the application form will be solely used for the arrangement of group docent service. For update of or access to such data after submission of the form, please contact our staff at 2119 7385.

Confirmation of Application

If the application is accepted, the Archive will confirm with applicant by replying Part B of the Application Form. Should there be any alterations, please contact us as soon as possible before the date of visit for necessary arrangement. If you do not receive the reply from the Archive 1 week before the proposed date of visit, please contact us at 2119 7385 immediately.
