Guqin is an art that stretches back into antiquity. In
the development of guqin music of diversity in modern
times, the guqin masters of Hong Kong has always been
at the forefront. Guqin has evolved from a block of wood
with the mounting of silk strings to a seven-string zither,
and from the folk music of the common people to the music
of the literati. Against this background, a variety of
guqin music cultures have been able to develop and flourish.
With the continuous and self-initiated refinement of the
guqin music lovers, new pieces have been composed and
the art of guqin has incorporated elements of multi-media
and sound wave re-creation of electronic music. Guqin
has always been foremost in the whole culture of Chinese
music.
